Julie (3/100) - At the memorial

I feel like I am cheating claiming this one - but I did ask him if I could take his photo!

However, he did ask me first if I would take a photograph of him, please. Drats! He is from Taiwan - sorry neglected to get his name. He is in Sydney doing a four month English language course. He reckons his listening is way better than his speaking. Both seemed fine to me!! So he - being the one learning English and feeling he is struggling with the speaking part - HE asked me! Bugger ... this is a bit like an own-goal ...

And ... to compound the problem ... he was shooting with a Canon S10IS which he bought last week. This is the very model that I am considering seeing that my Powershot S3 shuffled off this mortal coil last night ... and the S400D that I am trialling is giving me the dry rots. I might go into Ted's Cameras in Pitt Street on the morrow and see what brand of daylight-robbery they are demanding for one of them: 20x optical zoom and 12 mpx. With a very similar functionality to the S3. But I digress.

This is a great portrait. By the time you have reached your 100th you will be very comfortable with asking people to take their picture. Its not easy. I struggle somedays. Others it is easy. Fortunately Londoners love having their photo taken.

Julie, it is a great blog and idea. I am not sure if I could do it. It would be a challenge. I would make myself a little tag;
"Press" The local Rag!

I'm watchiing closely Julie, I think you are exceedingly brave. It's something that's been on my mind for a time, but I need to find some courage.

I'm off to Oz to find it.

It's a great idea Julie, I'm scared, but without pressure there'd be no progress, so I think I'm in!

I'm not sure how to contact you other than by "comment". Use the "contact" link in fine print at the top of my home page!

Hi Julie, count me in. I have just to say, that I am not a person who goes out a lot. It will certainly be a challenge for me. Most of the time I have my camera with me. Is there a certain time when the picture is due and a link? Do I have to make a special blog for this meme?
It was Sylvester evening when I took this picture.

Excellent, Titania. I am very pleased and you are exceedingly welcome!

This blog here is the site where you will upload your Strangers. I will invite you to become a contributor this evening. I will leave a comment on your YTT blog with my email on it asking you to reply to me, as I will need your email to be able to invite you to become a contributor. From there on out you and I will be equal contributors. I have also invited Peter via his email. There are no rules on time of day or how often to post. Take your time. Read the tips from the chap who set up the original concept.

I'm thinking, I'm thinking. Last night I struck up a conversation with an orthodox priest who was wearing an intriguing wooden cross. Did I take his photo - no. Would he have minded - I doubt it. Admittedly, at the time I was interested in the cross and didn't think about this blog till later.
