Julie (70/100) - In the shadow of the bell tower

I exhorted Kate to just ignore me and she quipped that would not be a problem ... mmm ....

I am trying to retake the Eleanor photo from last week - she of the green lenses. It was out of focus if you recall. I think I have the focus better. However I have not managed to blur the background as I wanted and I really should have cleaned the lens.

I think I have scratches on the lens. What you see here could have been a drop of rain, but I am getting it on other shots too and I can see marks on the lens. Bitch, bugger, bum!

However ... this could solve the problem of that to do with Kev's largesse ...

And also, I managed an interview for the job I applied for at The Con - your end of town. The BIG end of town! Have it next Thursday ...

Congratulations and good luck, hope you get it. I should start looking again but can't be bothered, will wait till I come back from o/s at the end of the year.

Was wondering was those light flare type spots were, they really detract from the image. I'm afraid I don't really like this one. Neither part seems fully in focus.

Where's Peter?

Yeah, not my favourite either. Doesn't say anything. The f/g is overwhelmed by the b/g. I needed that angle to get the bell tower in but the cloisters are quite deep and dark. I should have used the flash, instead up yanked the aperture open as wide as possible draining all the colour from the sky and still leaving the subject in the dark.

Boring ... yawn!

Peter has gone to see if he can rustle up another cyclone ... don't think he will be back before next weekend.

Oh dear I hope you are able to clean your lens. When I fell over at Lake Windemere I was horrified to see a mark on my lens but when I got it home was able to clean it up OK. Before I did the operation I read up stuff on the web about lens cleaning and if you have a deep scratch or something there is not a lot you can do.

Been thinking of applying Kev's largess to either photography or software, can't decide yet.

And yes, the subject is unfortunately too much in the dark so the detail is lost.
