Julie (106) - Elaine walking with her people
Confrontational? Not at all ... Elaine was gracious with her permission: she was pleased that I was covering her march; she was keen for me to join with her people. She encouraged me to walk along in the middle, rather than creep backwards along the gutter. As soon as I asked permission, her face softened and she wrapped her arms around me. Asking permission is a blessing to more open communication.

I really hope you keep going for another hundred, these are terrific.
Taa ... I have so many from last Saturday, that I am spreading them over both my main blogs. Such a pleasure to be able to pick and choose and change my mind even after I have scheduled something. Then after Ann suggested the B&W yesterday, I figured that a coupla others might go down a treat likewise. So hold onta yer hat ...
3 months back you wouldn't have been game enough to take this one. I love it.
Totally not.
Remember the shot of Robert outside the George Hotel sweeping the streets and oblivious of cars ... my heart was palpitating like buggery ... I felt like an interloper ... a fake who only wanted to use aborigines for their novelty factor to get a photograph ... and I worried about the problem of images of the dead ... now I am just a photographer recording life in my suburb and Aborigines are a massive slice of that life. Even the drunks and the beggars only ask once ... once each time you pass day and night! But they dont tug your shirt nor chase after you. More like: 'scuse me love, have you gotta a doller for me bus fare?
Good on y'all, gals, for doing this project. It is fascinating to follow.
The story in this post is especially moving.
