Cara (027) Florin

Florin and his friends looked like they were having the most fun at the Greek festival. The sun was shining (from behind), the ouzo was flowing and everyone was in a great mood. A really approachable bunch, I only intended on taking pictures of two of them... but you know how it is!

The sun was low and bright and behind the group. All pictures are with the flash.

This worked a treat, Cara. It is a terrific portrait and a really well-balanced photograph.

Can you tell me what your stats are for this one, please. I want to be able to look at today's photo and comment on your stats there but need to know the stats here first, if you would please.

This looks more side lit than back lit. Beautiful shot.

The stats are the same as the couple above him, F5.6 1/125 55mm... I think it was ISO 200.

Okay, I will have first stab at this.

I can accept that the aperture is F5.6 for each and that the s/s is 1/125. They are both sort of medium settings. Even an ISO of 200 is a clayton's setting. But struggle with the same focal length of 55mm for each. You must have cropped Florin.

I think the main difference here is that with Florin the sun is coming in at about 9 o'clock whereas with Michael & Gordana it is coming in about 11:30.

Yes I have cropped the sides of Florin.

I was standing at one end of the table which was a long one and the group were arranged 3 each side with Gordana on the left and Lilina on the right furthest from me, then Michael on the left and Florin on the right. The final 2 were closest to me but I have decided only to post one of them, Peter, as the other member wasn't that keen. As I face the table, the sun was at about 11o'clock to me...

Which I think does make him sidelit and which is why you didn't have the same problem as you did with the one above which is backlit.
