Ann - Concentration

This entire series is a gold-mine, Ann. Were the others in the class shooting each other, too?

The light you have here is great and the contrast and saturation are spot on. I have a lot of photography ahead over the weekend and am going to set a range of in-camera styles and jot down what I use when in a notebook.

I agree - spot on. It looks like a magazine photo!

Everyone was when we did natural light portraiture later on (coming soon) this was a shot I snuck on the long lens because I loved the way she kept lying on the ground to get her shots. Its something I don't do because I'd never get up again.

...*grin* ...

However, lying on the ground does not produce the most flattering of portraits! I end up with distortion around the neck area together with flabs of skin where I don't want people to have them.

I'm with you Ann, it's gotta to be good to make me get down there ... too hard to get up again.

The first photo I took in France this trip was of a canal barge, and I wanted to get down to the water level for it so I dropped onto my (stiff and aching) knees.

It was a balmy twenty something degrees and I had shorts on.

Did you know a lot of the waterways round here are lined with a particularly vicious sort of low lying stinging nettle??

Never mistake a photographer's expression of concentration for one of "I really wish I hadn't done that".
