Cara (034) Alex

I thought it was pretty funny and a welcome relief for the subject to come to me for a change. There I was standing at the traffic lights when Alex turned up with his mate, expressing an interest in the camera and then suggested a shot of himself. I couldn't work out whether he was mid-bender or just a supremely friendly guy. He wished me the best of days and went on his merry way.

Lucky you, you've found some really good subjects.

I have only had this happen once but it really opened doors for me as it was an Aboriginal man who wanted his photo taken.

Julie, what is a mid-bender?! First time I've heard that term, but sounds interesting...

mid-bender does not require the article.

Mid means middle of ... simple
bender means drinking too much ...

One goes on a bender which is a drunked spree. So, in this case, mid-bender means that he was acting as though he was drunk.
