This I think qualifies as an environmental portrait. However, I did not speak with her as I was way up on the Coogee promenade! Hence, not really a stranger ... I think I am simply learning how to take better portraits of people rather than the original rules.
I did not know the mother was in the corner until I loaded the shot. So nice I decided to leave it there ...
I'd call it an environmental portrait. Beautiful light - late afternoon? I thinnk I'd like to see all of the mother and baby.
Yes an environmental portrait and a very good one. I love the light, the action,the delicate dress, the framing but I find the mother a little distracting.
