Prior to going to Hobart, I had not heard of the Upper Florentine nor its rape. However, its supporters were across the town. Lynda was manning a Wilderness Society booth at the Salamanca Markets. There was another booth (well manned) at the Spring Tulip Festival at the Botanical Gardens.
Interesting that Sydney has the Royal Botanic Gardens (est. 1816) whereas Hobart has the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (est. 1818). When to use botanic and when to use botanical? But I digress ...
Lynda was committed and fervent ... . Sadly though, I have not walked a town before where heavy rigs haul 80 foot logs through city streets!
