Peter 065 - Aussie
I didn't get her name, but I waved my camera at her and she nodded as she looked past me, scouring the member's stand for signs of celebrity.
Greasepaint and 35°C, humidity 85%.
"Green and Gold Malaria", Rupert McCall called it in his poem of the same name.

Inspired background for this one, Peter. She cannot be more than early teens. The hook of celebrity is insidious!
The background is of course "hallowed turf". I'm not sure about the age, I daren't guess!
I love this. The green face and background, the sharpness of focus...ace!
Stunning - very you. With the various styles I've tried and am comfortable with, I've never been able to pull this one off.
"hallowed turf" I thought thought is was a photoshop job.
Photoshop! Oh pulllease!!
Nope, it's just a cricket ground.
Oh Joan! Ouch! I read your comment and realised that I actually have a pretty good idea how Peter achieved this effect. How far I have come in the past year.
Tell us, Ann or Peter! Am I right in thinking long lens, low f-stop?
Well spotted Cara, 200mm lens, f5.6 which was as low as she'll go!
That's one of my thoughts, the other was wide aperture with a prime lens which I think would have given a similar effect.
incredible photo.. one of the my favorites of 2009!!
