Ann 4/100 - Leticia

Leticia is visiting from northern Spain. She was studying her map against the map in the park. In return for my advice she let me take her photo.

Changed my mind on this one. This was the first photo I took of Leticia but not the one I originally posted. She is in shadow here so I took a second shot facing the other way and showing the back of the post. However I think this one says more so I Picassad it to get some light into it. I'm reasonably happy with the result.

I'd be happy too! She has the sort of smile that launched a thousand toothpaste ads.

Did you have your flash turned on?

You have captured that she is a tourist even if there had been no text! I like how you can manage to get folk into context. I try to zoom in on a head and lose sight of everything else. Want to be able to do both styles ...

I'm better at this style. Most of my photos (except these blogs) are taken when travelling) so I think like a traveller.

Peter - still trying to work out how to turn the flash on on the toy camera. Thought I had it switched on yesterday on the way home but it didn't flash. Maybe there was enough light. You can tell how much I know about photography. I would really like to be able to do these people justice though but the SLR is too heavy to carry around (I only use that on P or auto as well, although I do know where the flash is).

Yes, of course: this is what I can see. A traveller who wants the human interest but who also wants the local colour and local landmarks. Good for people shots I think ...

Ann, the SLR will surely have a "portrait" mode as well, which is usually the one with the picture of the lady in a sunbonnet.

I know what you mean about too big to carry round though!
