Peter 014 - Nev

Well Nev wasn't that hard to photograph!

He was Ian's offsider (or vice-versa, I'm not sure) at Spin City Cycles of Mooloolaba and I interrupted his lunch. His shirt so matched the back wall I simply couldn't leave him out!

He had the same accent as Ian (or a very similar one), and while last week when I spoke to a bloke who sounded similar he told me "Caloundra", Nev fessed up and told me he was from the Midlands in England. He's been here seven months, and judging by his smile alone, I reckon he's doing OK!

This one really works as well, the colours, the framing, the beautiful smile. I envy your ability.

You do that a bit: put the subject on one side and the context, in the background ont other. It really works ... if my brain can remember I will see if I can get one of them style.

The colour here is really a great find! And the fella ... mmm MMM ...

Well I can't comment on the fellow, except to say that he was as friendly as his smile and his eyes!

I've found the (self imposed) constraint of photographing in landscape orientation has me quite consciously thinking about the background. This one is a fairly obvious contextual shot, but it just works for me.

Others get tougher, I wonder how to prevent it becoming a formula, or whether that matters.

I love it. The colours of the black, orange and white just contrast so well - as well as the sharp focus of the foreground with the blurred background.

I wonder if I should quite while I'm ahead?

I've run out of shots anyway.......

It will take me until half an age to make the knowledge real!!

Interesting that you say you have run out of shots ... they just flowed to me yesterday. I was rejected by just one lad: a fine stamp of a boy that I sometimes see in the park with a most photogenic (?) head that any lens would kill for. But two of the others practically begged me to photograph them! My walk to work is an absolute treasure trove, containing as it does, Redfern Park, and many many derelict people and buildings. And I use that word deliberately ...

Sadly, when I walk the streets are devoid of people!

Oh for some imperfection in my life!! Woe!!

I wanna see a photo from you of a female type.

You and me both!

After Sunday, 20% of my photos will have been of females...... I'm trying to up the ante, really I am!
