Ann 33/100 - David/Daoud

David or Daoud is one of the local characters. He hangs around the shops and chats to the shop keepers. By this stage I had figured out the camera can't cope well with movement but he wouldn't keep still for more than a few seconds. The only one where he is perfectly still, I don't like due to the flash reflection in his glasses, I also really wanted a natural shot of him.

I like this one Ann. Catching him in the act of adjusting his glasses animates the whole shot.

He looks similar to many of the folk I see around Redfern. The streets are their home!

I would have thought that you might have converted this one to B&W to reduce its busyness. However, for me the busyness feeds into his character, especially the small one with the cheeky grin.

I think the busyness works in this (these) shots, as you say it feeds into his character.

Actually, it matches his shirt.

I tried it in black and white to take the emphasis of the background but it lost something. He's a big mess of a man and the mish mash of colours and the cross and chains was very much what I wanted to show.
