Ann 39/100 - Patrick

I'm pretty happy with this one. Very slight crop on the edges. I saw Patrick waiting for a bus and thought he looked approachable, which he was. In fact he wanted to chat so much that it was hard to get away. Turned out he was taking a bag of photos to someone in hospital and his brother used to be involved with training Trigger, Roy Roger's horse and worked in the States and met lots of famous actors. I wish I had had more time to listen.

I am still lagging in the badlands ... badly need to go on an excursion ... I am leaving earlier for work and everyone else is hurrying to get to work too ...
hang in there for me ...

oops ... forgot to ask ... this was with the d-SLR, right?

All great! It could do with a more exposure to lighten his face.

He actually looks like the sort of bloke who has a brother who knew Trigger.

Speaking of which, I badly need to get back on the horse.....

No, the only ones with the DSLR are the ones at Circular Quay and the Opera House a while back. Everything else is p&s. Betty was pretty much luck, I was actually putting he camera away when I thought no I'll take one more when she's not ready and zoom in. Patrick was right person, right place, right time and getting to know what the camera will and won't do. Pretty sure I took this on portrait. It's zoomed in a fair way. Wasn't sure whether there was enough light on his face (flash didn't fire) because I can't see the screen well in daylight, but it all worked out. Tomorrow is back to the normal crap shot.

...*grin* ...

That is putting me off a bit, actually. The fear that I will go back to the normal crap shot. Not so much technically but compositionally. Also the choice of subject. Taking one shot a day does mean that I live on the edge and there will be some days where I have absolutely nothing to post, but it does keep me on my toes. I really want to keep improving - plateaus are plain, boring places to be!!
