Julie (42/100) - Pickin' out a tune

Freddie was across the road from Redfern Station with his back leaning up against the police station. He grinned - a lot ... and played the same chord over and over. But he had money in his guitar case. His hat is from Innaminka.

You can see the neck of his guitar reflected in his glasses - and just make out my skirt.

Isn't it sad that the baseball cap is becoming even more ubiquitous than the rubber thong?

Not withstanding the reflections, I like number two better! It's the teeth I think., and the way the shadow from the cap blends with the glasses, and the background which says "I'm on the street."

Had you not given me the choice, I would have given you a cheery thumbs up, but I really do like number two!

He was staring straight into the later afternoon sun, so I knew that he needed both glasses and cap.

The bb-c has nothing to recommend it - I don't think it even protects from the sun unless worn btf.

I will admit to this post being an exercise in cropping.

Can't comment on these till Monday. The only one McAfee will let me see is No.3.

No 2 gives context but as a portrait I prefer your selection.

I like the one you chose, shame about it being washed out. Would be interested to see how it comes up in b&w.

Sorry about messing up the layout, can't get the 2 small ones to go back the way they were. Now sure whether this improves it or not, sharpening the original may work just as well.

I quite like what you have done: just a straightforward conversion? No sharpening etc ... not bad. The shadows now seem more meaningful and his grey beard is stronger.

Piccasa, converted to b&w, sharpened and auto tuned. Then I think I added a bit more shadow.
