I think the uncropped shot is just right. The subject is nicely placed in relation to the paperwork which makes a good statement about him. The crisp white of his shirt in relation to all the white of the paper is another nice touch. And his stance, not looking into the camera works well.
I sort of agree with Joan. But ...
I kinda like the hands ... and I kinda like the arm hooked around ... but don't really go for either of the angles of the head. The first image angles is just too much to the left ...
Only being picky because it is such a good image ... the first one ... where there is space for the office to have a "voice" too ...
