Julie (68/100) - MG7 - Barrell of laughs

Leanne was tickled pink that I chose her from her circle of intimates as they hung around the turn into Anzac Parade outside the Courthouse Hotel.

Leanne has much redder skin tone than either Jen or Ashley below. Could be the settings of the Picture Style I was using. Leanne was in the shadow of the pub and it was about 7pm so flash was necessary.

I think I have the focus right with this one: slight blurring in the f/g and again in the b/g.

She was trying so hard not to look at the camera - I had pleaded with her to please just try to ignore me.

It looks like there is red reflecting on her face from somewhere else, could it be from her partner's costume? Are they under cover or is it just that its evening. The focus on this one does look right. Jen and Ashley were taken in morning daylight in the shade of their van.

I'm not so sure any more about no eye contact. I like that direct eye contact, the difficulty is for it not to look too posed. Although I do have a couple coming up without eye contact that I really like. I guess it depends whether you are going for character or context.

Yes, I am changing about the eye contact thing, too. Sometimes that intense gaze adds just so much. It will be interesting to see what I can swing at my father's Cousins' Reunion today. They are of the generation that likes to pose in a formal way ... might even venture into B&W today ... shall play by ear ...

You have made a very interesting collection from MG Julie. I do so enjoy seeing what the world through your eyes.

Thank you, Joan. That is the end of the MG collection. I think I said earlier that I took a broad church approach to the MG shoot and within that, selected subjects that oozed character.
