Was this with the SLR? Looks like it to me.

You appear to be where I have found myself so many times: in a quandary as to what angle to shoot from. Here to me you seem not to know whether you want to shoot the gorgeous guy or whether you want to shoot what he is doing. This is why I often take and post 4 shots: I like to show the external package and I like to show what that person is doing that caught my attention. This is difficult to do in the one photo.

I like the calmness of the colour and the sharpness here. Nothing agressive ... where was it? Down near the MCA somewhere?

I like this shot and the angle and the cropping. For me it's enough all by itself.

This last sequence is with the p&s, which I'm finding does an extraordinarily good job if I am shooting a stationary subject. This guy was moving but not too much and every so often he'd stop moving and look up. I take a variety as well when I can, took about 6 of him, close up and full length, these are the 2 that I prefer. I was trying to show him as well as what he was doing. The closest one I had was the main one. I tend not to think that much, just shoot as many as I feel comfortable doing at the time with different focal lengths etc and then see what I've got. Probably not the best approach to take. The problem with these was that there was a fair bit of clutter in the background that I didn't want in shot.

Its not cropped Joan, just zoomed in tightly which for me is quite a bit of progress to do that in camera.

I find that the zooming incamera shots are what makes my photography composition make progress. I have to get it in focus and I have to think about all 4 sides.

There is a helluva lot of thinking in my shots ... too much ... I kick myself when I stuff it up or if I fail to see an opportunity when it is waving at me.

I tend to go more with feeling or intuition. I just think that would make a good shot and don't think that much about the technical stuff - which is no doubt why a lot don't turn out. I am rejecting a lot of opportunities now because the light is wrong. It amazes me the way you think out your shots. If I thought that much beforehand I wouldn't take any. I do think about interest, composition and light. Guess I think like a traveller - quick, take it before it moves.

Well, you two carry on. I enjoy the beauty contest.
