Ann 88/100 - Stuart

Stuart, Jacqueline and Mark were in Martin Place in full WWI uniform representing the Families and Friends of the First AIF, the purpose of which is to commemorate the service, sacrifice, courage and suffering of the First AIF of the Great War 1914-1918 and of their families and friends.

Ah ... now this is the perfect use of sepia to my mind. Adds so much t0 the ambience of the image.

Here is something I have learnt in this project. In your featured image, I would take a duck-pond step to the left which would close up the angle between flag and subject enabling you to come in a bit closer but also removing the gap between the two buildings in the background. I am forever taking that sideways step now to see what I can see in the viewfinder.

I like this photo and how you have presented it.

I must learn to think about that step to the left. It didn't occur to me here, possibly because a) I was originally trying to get a good shot of the 3 of them together and b) the other people jostling to get a photo.

The best sepia context I've seen in a long time. Well done Ann!
