Cara (007) Arianna

Arianna was dressed as a princess and firing a bubble gun into the Regent Street throng from the doorway of Hamley's toy shop. She was a perfect model, allowing me to snap away giving me plenty of angles while still managing to chat to passing kids. Grazie tanto, Arianna!

You are coming up with some wondrous subjects, Cara. She is a gorgeous looking lass. And that bubble gun ... terrific.

Tell us how you are finding the process of chatting up subjects. You do seem to be laid back about the exercise.

I recall the first knockback you got in Brizzie and how challenging you found it. What is different this time, do you think?

This is wonderful. You are very good at this. You don't seem anywhere near as nervous as I was at the beginning. Is it because you are travelling? I know I find talking to people much easier when I'm travelling - partly because I have to and partly because I'm travelling through and will never see them again if I make a complete fool of myself.

I think a combination of factors has changed for me. Being in London makes a huge difference. It's full of people who enjoy attention. Personally, I feel more confident because this is where I grew up and I am so excited to be back after 3 years away. But also I am picking people who are doing things. People who are busy seem less likely to deliberate the pros and cons... and also don't feel like they have to pose. They can just get on with things. Easy targets perhaps... getting a pensioner on a park bench to agree might be a bit more difficult! I might make that one a personal goal.

thank you cara for publishing my pics! it's a nice and original idea to publish pics of unknown people.. ;) i was glad to be your model for few minutes, I'm starting enjoying this time, the first days i was doing this job i was quite "scared" that so many people wanted a pic of a stranger"princess" or whatever... but that's very nice. now i'm feeling completely in the role... everyday I have an average of 50 or 60 pics with kids or adults... and it makes me happy because i give away smiles, and leave good souvenirs of their trip in london... thanks again cara, and nice to meet you! come and visit me again!

A response from the subject - how cool is that!
