Peter 073 - Joe and Rachael

Once again I've stooped to photographing an "easy introduction".

Rachael is my niece and she brought Joe up to introduce him to us, so he was definitely a stranger at that point!  He was her dance partner before becoming her partner in life as well.

Born in the Phillipines, he's been an Australian for a decade, is a talented dancer, musician and photographer by night, and carpenter by day.

I like all the white in this image. The shadowless light is really clean and crisp. The cup's handy too, blocking out people and shops that could have cluttered up the background.

I'm not so happy. I feel that the angle distances me from the subjects and that the distortion of both the mugs and the sunnies is distracting.

I actually think it's a portrait of a mug, and the people are incidental (which I didn't mind), but I take your point!

I'm not sure about the angle, either but he looks like a really nice guy. Unfortunately its another case of sunglasses obscuring her eyes but as we've said before, there's not a lot you can do about that in this country.
