Ann 20/100 - Peter

Never thought I'd make it to 20! Using someone else's style doesn't always work. Apart from the fact that his body is facing the wrong way I would have liked to blur out the right hand side more. Peter makes these amazing metal things that have an optical illusion effect as they spin and I wanted to get him and his work.

I am so chuffed that you have hung in! Sort by your label and look at just your posts - it has been a remarkable journey.

Do you think this journey is starting to impact on your Meandering?

I don't have a problem with where his body is facing!

Good shot!

I'll repeat Julie's question too!

Is it impacting on CDP? Only to the extent that I am putting so much time into this I don't have time for CDP. CDP for me was never about great photography, just about showing people my city and things I notice during my wanderings that I find interesting. I like CDP for the travel more than for the photography, I can vicariously visit places I may never go in real life, or add more places to the wish list. I bought the p&s specifically for CDP. Though I am trying a lot more different things, particularly with architecture after looking at other people's work. I don't think this will translate over very much. Its not a blog I feel comfortable putting people close ups on.

What I think this will do is get me to play with the SLR and try working with aperture and shutter priority and in camera b&w (none of which translates to the p&s). So overall I hope to become a better photographer.

Where I do see it translating is my next overseas trip, although I'm not sure I'm going to be that happy with the results I'll get if I ask. I may stick to the 250 end of the zoom. What I would really like to be able to do is what Selim is doing with his Hong Kong people shots, although I don't know how much post work he is doing on them.

Interesting comments here, Ann. I want to respond to them - and to Peter's comments of yesterday - but have to do the washing and cleaning first. Otherwise, this obsession - Peter's term and your implication - will overwhelm me yet again!

Shall try to frame my thoughts for tomorrow ...

I think he is facing the right way and would not blur the right side at all, its interesting. To me, it's a really good shot.
