Ann 47/100 - Jenna

Finally, someone with piercings, though if it had been a boy I don't think I'd have asked. I was staring at Jenna's chest piercings all the way home on the train and when she got at the same station I asked her about them. They aren't stuck on, they are permanent and were surgically inserted. She used to have balls on them but one came off so she had both of them replaced.

I jut thought she had very high nipples!

The piercings are ... ahhh... very attractive. My grandfather had a couple of things that looked like that. He called them shrapnel wounds. ;-) (Sorry Jenna, I'm smiling when I say that.)

The photo is your best yet I think, well done, it's a keeper!

Thanks, I was really surprised by the way this one came out - its with the p&s. I had her in the shade initially, thinking the sun would be too harsh but they were too dull. So she moved into the sun and it worked, she's obviously just at the right angle. Bet I couldn't do it again if I tried.

This is such a good study, Ann. The light and shadow give emphasis to the look on her face which is defensive/aggressive. Quite atmospheric.

You have chosen your subject well: not only for the piercings but also for the colour of her clothing, the beanie and the shape of the glasses.

And psychologically, the background works really well: lots of little boxes for someone who does not want to be put into the usual societal boxes!

Yep ... a ripper ...

You read so much more into things than I do. I couldn't have even told you what the background was when I took the shot, I was just praying that the sun wouldn't reflect off her glasses.

... oooo ... the answer lies in the soil ... oooo ... the great conjunction of moon and stars lies overhead ...

Seriously though, it does not matter what was in your head at the time. The background absolutely suits the subject and could not have been better placed if you had tried.

Something was guiding your hand ... ooo ...

One of the wonderful things about projects like this is that when a happy accident occurs, we become aware of it and start to analyse what made it so.

I'll bet like me, without this sort of exercise, you would have thought to yourself: "nice shot, happy accident" without a thought for how to replicate it!
