Julie (121) - Jess spruiking for her candidate

This is a bit overexposed. It was taken on Eastern Avenue at midday in bright sunlight. Jess is an Arts student who was manning one of the election booths for student election day. They go all out and campaign - like real pollies with threadbare policies!

Its not too bad and the frame really sets it off. How are you doing that, is it in Elements?

PS. What did you think of last night? I thought he was very good. For the first time I actually understood how DOF works.

I do it online in something called Picnik
http://www.picnik.com/

It is the one that Z from Villigen uses. He got me onto it. I think it looks very tasteful and suits portraits. He does it for all his and has a square shape which is very effective. It is extra work ...

What did you think of last night?

Hah! Snap ...

Ditto re DoF ... that tree diagram worked a treat. Now to remember ... up close for a person F4 ... for a line of people to get them all in focus more like F11 ....

I'm going to have a crack at that at lunchtime, you'll be seeing more of the Archibald Fountain. Think I've found a tripod bag at Paxtons, will go and look at it after work. This is getting expensive.

Julie, I really like this shot. The limited pallette of colours and her lovely smile.

You ladies are beginning to spruke all sorts of stuff f11 etc which is a total mystery to me. I'm getting left behind. Perhaps it's time a gave up blogging and started learning!

Ah but you see Joan, we have bth just started a WEA Fundamentals class which goes for another 7 weeks. And with both of us going (and there is another "older" woman there too) we shall keep each other on our toes!

But remember, there is no point in learning if you dont blog to put it into practice. And chat with us for encouragement and a kind word or seven ...
